Commercial Dairy has found its way among the cattle rearing farmers of Biswanath Chariali after increased knowledge of crossbreeding and adoption of AI. Farmers here were earlier satisfied with one or two nondescript cows giving very low milk production sufficient for the household. Gradual increase in AI born crossbreed calves resulting in increase in production of milk has prompted the farmers to shift from unorganized cattle rearing to organized, formal way of market-led sustainable dairy management. Small Milk Producers Societies have come up in the area now with eight Milk Parlors /Milk Outlets established in this area.
